On Thursday, Malaysia’s national oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd. (Petronas) announced that it seeks expressions of interest (EOI) for its planned new liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank in Pengerang, Johor.
The EOI is targeted at assisting subsidiary Pengerang LNG (Two) Sdn. Bhd. (PLNG2) in mulling the construction of a third LNG storage tank at its LNG Regasification Terminal in Pengerang (RGTP).
Petronas said that the new storage is set to complete in the last quarter of 2025, subject to the project's Final Investment Decision (FID).
The upcoming facility aims to support the predicted surge of LNG demand in Asia.
