Poland’s state-owned oil and gas company Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG) said that the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) had allowed it and its subsidiary to participate in the certification proceedings of the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. The Polish government and PGNiG have been opposing the 1,230-km twin pipelines, believing that the project threatens Europe’s energy security.
