Qatar ordered four new liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers from a Chinese shipbuilder amid the demand boom.
On Sunday, Qatar Petroleum (QP) announced that the vessels will be built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group Co., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corp. The tankers are a part of QP’s North Field expansion project.
The four tankers will be worth more than QAR2.8 billion (USD762 million).
