Russian petrochemical producer SIBUR said it would boost investments to allow it to meet Turkey’s growing demand for polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PE). SIBUR’s executive marketing director Sergey Komyshan said his company expects extremely high demand growth from some industrial sectors in Turkey. Komyshan noted that Turkey would be one of the key destinations for SIBUR products. The company also plans to strengthen its distribution operations in Turkey to access more markets, including Israel and North Africa. The additional polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PE) exports to Turkey will come from SIBUR’s natural gas facility currently under construction in Russia’s Amur Oblast. The new complex is slated for completion in 2024.
