AlwaysFree: Saipem, Alboran Aim for Green Hydrogen Plants

Author: SSESSMENTS

Saipem and Alboran are aiming for the collaboration and construction of 5 green hydrogen production plants.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two companies targets the establishment of a green hydrogen hub in Puglia, Italy, with three plants to be built in the territories of Brindisi, Taranto, and Foggia. One other plant is planned for Albania, and another one planned in Morocco is set to produce ammonia from green hydrogen.

The plants would use electrolysis for the renewable hydrogen production process. There is no more detail regarding the schedule nor investment figures.

In the partnership,  Saipem is to be involved mainly in the engineering, procurement, and construction of the facilities, while Alboran will coordinate technological aspects related to research institutes and various authorizations for the developments.
