In 2019, the sales of Turkmenistan’s State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange soared by more than 50% to 347,300 tons.
The increase was caused by the commissioning of the Akhal gas-to-liquids plant in Ovan-depe combined with the increase in gas processing at other plans.
Afghanistan remained Turkmenistan’s main buyer. The country bought 218,000 tons, prompted by stable demand and low transportation costs.
