Due mainly to the property division which was impacted by the Movement Control Order, Scientex Bhd's net profit for Q3 ended April 30, 2020 (3QFY20) dipped 4.5 percent to RM69.62 million from RM72.88 million a year earlier.
Versus RM828.46 million previously, revenue for the quarter slipped 6.8 percent to RM772.23 million. Against 14.31 sen a year earlier, earnings per share were lower at 13.5 sen. Scientex said the dividend payout of RM51.6 million amounted to 20.8 percent of its net profit for the cumulative first nine months of FY20 ended April 30, 2020.
From RM200.29 million, Scientex said its net profit rose 23.8 percent for 9MFY20 to RM248.06 million on the back of an 11.1 percent increase in revenue to RM2.56 billion versus RM2.31 billion earlier.
