AlwaysFree: Shell’s Louisiana Refinery to Restart Crude, Gasoline, Diesel Units

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Thursday, sources familiar with plant operations said that Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s 230,611 bpd Norco, Louisiana refinery would restart its crude distillation unit (CDU), along with gasoline and diesel producing units this weekend.

The 240,000 bpd DU-5 CDU, the 112,000-bpd gasoline-producing residual catalytic cracking unit (RCCU), and the 40,000-bpd diesel-producing hydrocracker would have the restart continued into the coming week.

Other than that, next week the refinery will also begin restarting its 25,000 bpd coker and 40,000 bpd reformer.

Previously, the refinery had completed the restart of the 55,000 bpd diesel hydrotreater and two sulfur recovery units.

Norco refinery was shut on August 28, a day before Hurricane Ida which damaged it.
