It is reported that the proactive construction and installation process should be launched for the project at present
According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on October 8, 2022, the greater portion of EP-600 Olefin Complex Project in Tatarstan has already been completed and all the required equipment were imported to Russia, chief executive of Sibur-RT, a subsidiary of the Russian petrochemical giant Sibur, Aleksey Nikiforov said on Friday.
"The project moved further from the halfway mark significantly for the EP-600 implemented on the Nizhnekamskneftekhim base. The greater portion of the equipment has already been imported; it undergoes installation already," the top manager said.
The proactive construction and installation process should be launched for the project at present, Nikiforov said. "It will be followed by startup, also to be done in the near future," he added.
The olefin complex with the capacity of 600,000 tonnes of ethylene per year is one of main strategic projects of Nizhnekamskneftekhim. New facilities will make it possible to process straight-run gasoline with the volumes of 1.8 mln tonnes and ramp up Russian ethylene production capacity to meet growing domestic demand and reduce imports of its derivatives.
