- The company noted the demand potential in these regions at the level of up to 600,000 tons
According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on January 30, 2023, Sibur supplied 100,000 tons of petrochemicals to Africa and South America in 2021-2022 and sees the potential for demand in these regions at up to 600,000 tons, a member of the managment board and the executive director of the Russian petrochemical company Sergey Komyshan told TASS.
"In 2021 and 2022, about 100,000 tons of polypropylene and polyethylene were sold to these markets. The export potential of these markets in the medium term, taking into account our brand range, in particular for polymers, can reach up to 600,000 tons per year," he said.
Earlier in an interview with TASS, Komyshan noted that the company had successfully redirected sales from the European market. In particular, Sibur sees the countries of Southeast Asia as a promising market for its products.
