AlwaysFree: SIBUR Plans To Donate $1 Million To Earthquake Victims In Türkiye

Author: SSESSMENTS

According to the company’s LinkedIn post on February 15, 2023, SIBUR, Russia’s leading petrochemical producer, has agreed to donate about $1 million to victims of the deadly earthquake in Türkiye from its sales revenue in the country.

“We are shocked by the damage caused by this devastating earthquake, which has killed or left homeless tens of thousands of Turkish people”, said Andrey Frolov, head of SIBUR International. “We are moved by the extent of the suffering, and we want to do what we can to help the victims.”

The company has agreed to donate $5 from every tonne of products sold in Türkiye from February through March 2023 to support people who have lost their homes, other property or loved ones in the disaster.

In 2022, SIBUR increased its supply of products – including polypropylene and polyethylene, BOPP films, synthetic rubbers, polystyrene, MAN and polycarbonate – to Türkiye, where SIBUR’s sales amount to about 100,000 tonnes per month.

It is also important that, with SIBUR’s support, Russian processing companies continue to supply plastic products made from SIBUR’s feedstock to Türkiye, which has encountered production shutdowns and logistics disruptions due to the earthquake.
