According to the company’s social media update, SIBUR has been active on the Chinese market for over 10 years now and is moving to expand its partnerships there. In 2021 alone, the Company exported 500,000 tonnes of products to China, mainly polymers and synthetic rubber. Around 20% of all SIBUR exports currently end up in the country, and 2022 should see SIBUR boost this figure to 40% as it launches exports of raw materials and liquid chemicals. SIBUR looks to become China’s key polymer supplier over a five-year horizon.
