Siemens Energy has signed an MoU with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) to jointly develop the country’s green hydrogen production and export capabilities. The MoU followed a letter of intent signed by both parties in January to set up long-term cooperation in the industry. Siemens Energy and EEHC will develop a pilot project with 100 to 200 MW of electrolyzer capacity to drive early technology deployment, set up off-take relations, define logistic concepts, as well as formulate and test regulatory environment and certification. Egypt’s hydrogen industry will benefit from the country’s rich mix of renewable energy resources, developed infrastructure, a solid industrial base, and access to potential markets.
