On Wednesday, two sources said that Total S.A. had a USD14.4 billion funding for its Mozambique liquefied natural gas (LNG) project fixed.
One source informed that the financing agreement was sealed with a group of around 20 lenders for the first phase of the senior debt funding. No names of the banks were mentioned. The financing is targeted to be clinched in the third quarter of this year.
An energy banking source confirmed the statement.
Previously, Bloomberg reported earlier on the same day that Total was to sign USD15 billion financing for the project next month.
