On Thursday, Swiss biggest producer of renewable energy Axpo stated that it would open a branch in Singapore to expand its Asian liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading.
The new Singapore subsidiary will be open at the end of 2020 with Sophie Ducoloner being the head. The office will focus on trading and delivering a range of energy solutions, such as energy procurement, portfolio optimization, and energy risk management.
Domenico De Luca, Axpo’s head of trading and sales, commented that the company saw Asia has significant potential in the LNG market as more players aim to reduce their carbon footprint and move towards cleaner energy resources and away from coal.
