AlwaysFree: Synova, Technip To Commercialize Plastic Waste-To-Olefins Technology

Author: SSESSMENTS

Synova and Technip Energies have agreed to jointly develop and commercialize Synova’s thermochemical recycling technology in conjunction with Technip’s steam cracking technology. The thermochemical recycling technology breaks dirty and mixed plastic waste into their building blocks that can be used to produce circular plastics. The technology reduces carbon footprint and the need for intensive waste sorting.

The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) invented the thermochemical recycling technology and developed it further with Synova. Technip Energies will work with Synova to optimize and improve the plastic recycling technology. The partnership is expected to result in a unique waste-to-olefins solution able to lower CO2 emissions and create a circular economy for plastics.
