The U.S presidential election in November gave more risks for natural gas pipelines, as it linked into production to demand centers but facing opposition at an increasing rate from those seeking the fossil fuel phase out. As for the interstate gas pipelines, the important gatekeeper for permitting the premises are the federal government. If the Democratic party’s Joe Biden is elected as the U.S next president, the future changes of Federal Energy Regulatory leadership will raise questions whether the approvals from the federal government would be as predictable.  The gas pipeline capacity approved by FERC had been quadrupled between the year of 2013 to 2017 to reach 30.7 Bcf/d in a recent boom cycle before coming off the peak.
