According to the company’s website news release on September 28, 2022, Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (“Toho Gas”, President: Nobuyuki Masuda) will participate in sales operation of natural gas for industrial use in Thailand which will mark the first attempt of the operation overseas.
Toho Gas will jointly establish Thai ST Energy Investment Company Limited (“TST”), a new special purpose company with SHIZUOKA GAS Co., Ltd. (“Shizuoka Gas”, President: Hiroyuki Kishida) and launch sales operation of natural gas for industrial use in corporation with Scan Inter Public Company Limited (“SCN”).
The company expects to continue the expanding use of natural gas by switching fuel from petroleum and coal in Thailand. By leveraging the know-how and expertise obtained through the company’s past promotion of natural gas use, the company will put forward the cultivation of natural gas demand in Thailand in corporation with Shizuoka Gas.
Toho Gas will contribute to the realization of low/zero-carbon emission society through expanding domestic and overseas energy related business.
