The Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB) will organise ‘IKMIB – Trade Delegation to Bangkok’ business-matching event at Millennium Hilton Bangkok Hotel on 16 December 2022. The Business Matching event aims to tap further into the growing Thai market and promises to foster partnerships that will benefit both Thailand and Turkiye. Mr. Cemil Çakar, TIM Delegate of the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB) and Team Leader of the IKMIB – Trade Delegation to Bangkok, says “IKMIB – Trade Delegation to Bangkok event promises to form potential partnerships for Thai and Turkish enterprises to combine their strengths for enhanced competitiveness. As many as 29 strong Turkish companies from Chemical Products, Cosmetics & Cleaning Products, Houseware & Kitchenware, Medical Device & Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical & Supplement sectors have signed up for the event, ready to present their product samples and show what they can do for Thai companies.”
“We are going to create a forum where you can exchange insights, explore possibilities, and work together for the development of your businesses and our sectors,” Mr. Çakar adds. “We are here to underline that Turkiye now ranks among the world’s important alternative suppliers as we offer faster deliveries and high-quality products at affordable prices.”
At least 50 Thai leading companies have already expressed interest in participating upcoming the B2B matchmaking event. Each of the participating Turkish companies is expected to meet between five and seven top distributors, retailers, and manufacturers in Thailand to forge business ties.
Boasting solid quality and conformity to international standards, Turkish products are available at relatively lower prices when compared with European manufacturers. Moreover, Turkish manufacturers enjoy advantageous locations and proven reliable deliveries made even during the most difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Turkiye exported more than $288.57 billion of products to other parts of the world. Turkiye’s exports to Thailand were worth $236.22 million. Of the amount, more than $36 million were in the forms of inorganic chemicals, precious metal compounds, and isotopes while organic chemicals accounted for copy $1.95 million.
By sector, Turkiye exported $68.5 million in chemical products (cosmetics, mineral oils, chemicals, plastics, adhesives, paints, pharmaceuticals and others to Thailand last year. Of the amount, cosmetics and cleaning products accounted for around copy.5 million; plastics for $4.2 million, and pharmaceuticals for $5.8 million.
“There is still ample room for our exports to grow and support Thailand’s economic growth in various ways. We have cosmetics and beauty products to back Thailand’s thriving beauty industry. We have pharmaceuticals and medical devices to support Thailand’s medical-hub status and so on,” said the representative of IKMIB.
Backed by demand generation and marketing agency Canvassco, IKMIB has already reached out to the Federation of Thai Industrials (FTI) and trade organisations to ensure the success of the upcoming business-matching event.
Ms. Pornprapun Sriyotha, executive of Canvassco that serves as IKMIB – Trade Delegation to Bangkok’s business-matching event official coordinator, emphasises that Thai businesses definitely should not miss the opportunity to meet prospective Turkish suppliers because a similar event will be held in Vietnam.
“Thailand has already built an extensive network of distribution channels and enjoyed the rapid expansion of online shopping.
