- Denis Shmygal said tens of energy facilities sustained damage over more than a week
According to TASS, Russia's state-owned news agency article published on October 19, 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said six energy facilities sustained damage across the country on Tuesday.
"More strikes were inflicted today on the energy sector in the Zhitomir, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Nikolayev and Donetsk regions and in the city of Kiev. Six energy facilities were damaged," he said at a cabinet meeting, an excerpt of which he posted to Telegram.
He said tens of energy facilities sustained damage over more than a week. Shmygal said Zhitomir and some settlements in the surrounding region, as well as parts of Kiev, experienced power cuts on Tuesday morning.
The prime minister urged people to reduce energy consumption, especially during the evening.
"Don’t use washing machines, water boilers, air conditioners, space heaters, cut down on using electric kettles and stoves, turn off the lights in rooms if you are not there, move your home improvement work to an earlier time of the day," he said.
