AlwaysFree: United States Discussing About More Sanctions On Venezuela To Block Fuel Deals

Author: SSESSMENTS

The U.S administration of President Trump is weighing on giving additional sanctions on Venezuela intended at blocking the remaining fuel transaction permitted with the Latin American country, media reported on Tuesday, August 18. The crude swaps between the country and companies in Asia and Europe could be the target of the additional sanctions, the report added, citing the source familiar with the context. The talks of the sanctions are ongoing, and not been finalized, while the U.S Treasury Department still is not responding to comment requests.

The U.S has considered about the move for months, and previously prioritized their actions against Iran which had started exporting their gasoline to Venezuela. The sanction has been imposed on both countries to obstruct their oil exports and skimmed off the main source of revenue to see the banishment of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and a change in behaviour from Iran’s government. The U.S has also threatened any ship owners and vessels with sanctions for those who participated in oil trade with Venezuela and Iran.

Washington said last week that it had confiscated four fuel shipments owned by Iran that had been bound to Venezuela, obstructing the key supply line for both sanctioned countries as they defied the sanctions made by the U.S government.
