Univation Technologies has been selected to provide its UNIPOL process technology for Repsol’s new polyethylene (PE) plant in Sines, Portugal. Univation will also offer its advanced software platforms for process control capability (PREMIER APC+) and its virtual process training (UNIPOL PE Virtual Plant Simulator – UVPS). The new plant will have a capacity of 300,000 tons/year, capable of adjusting production between high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). It will be built alongside other polymer plants as part of Repsol’s €657-million ($775-million) investment in Portugal.
