According to the company’s website news release on April 26, 2023, stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Thursday. Thereafter, various stages of loadshedding will be implemented as per the loadshedding table below:
Breakdowns are currently at 16 283MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 5 065MW.
Over the past 24 hours a generation unit at Kriel Power Station was returned to service.
In the same period, a generating unit each at Camden and Duvha power stations were taken offline for repairs. The delays in returning a unit to service at Kendal and two units each at Kriel and Tutuka power stations contributed to the current capacity constraints. The team is working around the clock to ensure that generating units are returned to service as soon as possible.
We thank those South Africans who do heed the call to use electricity sparingly and efficiently in helping to alleviate the pressure on the power system, as this is assisting in avoiding higher stages of loadshedding.
