Author: SSESSMENTS

On Wednesday, the offshore oil output from the US Gulf of Mexico was still down although showing an improvement from Tuesday’s level, as energy firms were restarting more activity in the region in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.

According to the Department of Interior, the region’s offshore oil production was down by 19.9% from daily production or 368,223 bpd yesterday. 59 manned platforms in the Gulf remained evacuated, but the level was down from 71 closed ones on Tuesday.

According to a Reuters tally of government data, since August 22, the shutdowns in preparation of Hurricane Laura and Marco have slashed 13.8 million barrels of oil from the market.

Natural gas output was also resumed, and the cut was 19.7% or 532,55 mcfd.
