AlwaysFreeRegister: EIA: US Oil Output Broke Record in August

Author: SSESSMENTS

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that in August, the US crude production soared significantly by 600,000 bpd to a record of 12.4 million, spurred by the 30% output increase from the Gulf of Mexico.

The Gulf of Mexico’s shale formation, across Texas, North Dakota, and New Mexico, rose by 469,000 bpd in the month, driving the region to break a record of above 2 million bpd. Even after being disrupted by Hurricane Barry in July, the region’s output has climbed by 100,000 bpd from early 2019.

The output from both Texas and Dakota both increased in the month, by 98,000 bpd and 28,000 bpd respectively.

Separately, demand for gasoline and diesel both rose, with gasoline to a record 9.82 million bpd while diesel to 4.0 million bpd.

The country’s production of natural gas in the lower states rose by 2.6 bcfd to the highest level of all time to 104.2 bcfd in August.

Natural gas output from Texas climbed by 1.9% to a record high of 28.5 bcfd in the month, up by 0.5 bcfd from July. The output from Pennsylvania also reached a record level of 19.2 bcfd, rising by 0.6%.
