- A trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that as of April 17 morning, the offers for import LLDPE Film C4 from a Thai PE producer were adjusted down by $60/ton compared to Monday’s level. For US cargoes, the trader received HDPE Film offers at $725/ton, which were deemed too high as market talks have it that other suppliers are offering at $700/ton. The trader also received Qatari LDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 at $820/ton and $730/ton, respectively on Wednesday. However, there were no deals concluded yet. All offers were on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis.
- Another local trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the offers for localized PE cargoes across all grades of various origins decreased between CNY50-200/ton ($7-28/ton) from Thursday’s level. The trader stated that the buying sentiment is currently weak and some buyers prefer to make procurement on a hand-to-mouth basis. The trader also added that the operating rate from converters who are focusing on the export market is decreasing following the weak demand due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Market outlook remains gloomy and PE prices still have room to decrease further.
