- On Thursday, April 23, a China-based trader raised its local PE offers in line with upward momentum in the futures market. As compared to Wednesday’s level, the trader announced a fresh price list with an increase of between CNY100-150/ton ($14-21/ton) for local LDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 cargoes. As of Thursday, April 23, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that September 2020 LLDPE prices on the Dalian Commodity Exchange showed an increase of CNY380/ton ($54/ton) as observed at 2 PM GMT+8, open at CNY5,800/ton ($818/ton) by Thursday morning trading session.
- From the import market, a South Korean producer announced another round of downward adjustment for May shipment offers to China market. As compared to last week, the producer applied a hefty price reduction of $60/ton for HDPE Film cargoes. The latest offers are available at $720/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis with done deals concluded between $10-20/ton lower than the initial offer level. However, the allocation is limited. Similarly, a Thai PE producer initiated a price reduction of $30/ton for HDPE Film and $50/ton for LDPE Film to China market as compared to Monday’s levels. For LLDPE Film C4, the Thai producer is offering the cargo at $730/ton as of Thursday morning, $40/ton lower than the offer level available on Monday. However, in the afternoon, the trader adjusted up the LLDPE Film C4 offers by $10/ton citing good responses from customers, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
