- On May 6, a source from a Thai PE producer contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM informed that the company has announced a fresh price list to the China market for this week. In a comparison to last Tuesday’s level, the offers for HDPE Film increased by $10/ton. Likewise, import offers for LLDPE Film C4 raised by $20/ton compared to the same period. The source stated that the reason behind the upward adjustment is the firmer futures prices. However, market responses toward the offers are not too good, most buyers apparently want to hold the procurement first as today is just the first trading day after the Labor Day holiday.
- On the supply side, market sources in China informed SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest updates of the inventory level of the two leading polyolefins producers in the country. As of Wednesday, May 6, the inventory level of polyolefins at both producers recorded at 950,000 tons, an increase of 155,000 tons during the Labor Day holiday.
