- A Chinese trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest offers for local HDPE Film, LDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 cargoes from the company’s end. As of June 9, the trader’s offers for local HDPE Film cargoes went up between CNY100-200/ton ($14-28/ton) as compared to the offers available on Wednesday, June 3. Meanwhile, local offers for LDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4 remained stable compared to the same period.
- In the import market, another Chinese trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM on receiving import offers from a Thai PE producer with an adjustment. However, this week, the trader only received HDPE Film offers from the producer, which is available at $895/ton on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis, or $30/ton higher than last week’s level. Market talks have it that some deals for Thai HDPE Film cargoes closed at the initial offer levels. Demand-wise, the current domestic PE market is not too promising; no significant changes in futures market prices today, hence, converters remain on a cautious stance. However, since the demand in other countries is considered good and feedstock prices remain firm, import PE offers gained momentum to rise. Besides, foreign suppliers reportedly have no inventory pressure recently.
