LG Chem, China’s Geely to Team Up on EV Batteries

South Korean battery maker LG Chemicals Ltd. announced its agreement with China’s Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. to form a joint venture (JV), producing batteries for electric vehicles.


Both companies will each invest USD94 million in the venture and by the end of 2021, the JV will have an annual capacity of 10 GWh. Its products would be supplied to Geely’s electric vehicles from 2022.
