Mongol Refinery State Owned LLC has reportedly signed an MoU with Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) on Feb 10 at PETROTECH-2019. Under the deal, EIL agreed to provide Project Management of Consultancy (PMC) services to Mongol Refinery while official timeframe for the project has yet to be announced. The nation’s first oil refinery project is under construction on 150 hectares area located in Altanshiree Soum, province of Dornogovi.
Alongside the oil refinery construction, Mongolia planned to construct other facilities including the electric power transmission line, 20km of roadway and railway to connect the manufacturing site to Sainshand. The refinery is expected to process 560,000 ton/year of gasoline, 670,000 ton/year of diesel, and 107,000 ton/year of liquefied gas for domestic use and to cut the country’s end-product imports from Russia.
