August shipment offers from an Emirati PE producer surfaced in the India market with remarkable changes; price levels for some particular grades deemed unacceptable. As reported by an Indian trader to SSESSMENTS.COM, August shipment offers for Emirati HDPE Film skyrocketed between $70-90/ton, stood at $930/ton. Some deals were closed at the initial offer levels. For LDPE Film, the Emirati producer is offering at $950/ton, or $60/ton higher, however, such a level is deemed unacceptable. Some buyers cited that the ideal prices for LDPE Film should be around $900-920/ton-level, as such, most buyers are submitting bids at those levels. All price changes are on a monthly interval and all offers are available on LC at sight, CIF Nhava Sheva Port. Whereas for LLDPE Film C4, the trader is not attentive with the producer’s August shipment offers since most buyers prefer sourcing local materials because of ample supply.
From other origins, import offers for Malaysian LDPE Coating were also hiked by $70/ton from last month’s level. The offers are available at $1,180/ton on LC at sight, CIF Nhava Sheva Port with deals were successfully concluded at the initial offer level. Citing that demand for LDPE Coating is quite strong as buoyed by supply shortage. Meanwhile, Japanese LDPE Coating offered at $1,200/ton on the same payment and delivery terms, but no comparison available. Further added to SSESSMENTS.COM, the trader has yet to hear any fresh offers for import PP Homopolymer grades to the India market at the moment.
Demand-wise, buying sentiment for import HDPE Film and LDPE Film is still going good as supported by limited availability in the domestic market. Yet, the overall domestic demand for PE and PP is considered lukewarm. On the production sector, SSESSMENTS.COM was told that most factories are running at a reduced rate of between 50-80% from normal output considering the slow sales for end-products.
