Market sources told SSESSMENTS.COM that Braskem Idesa had notified its customers about a $50/ton increase on all of its polyethylene (PE) grades sold in Mexico. The notification letter said that the increment would take effect on June 15. The latest increase followed a $22/ton rise announced earlier this month, sources said. The hike is also in line with the 4 cents/pound increment announced by North American producers for June. Braskem Idesa produces HDPE and LDPE grades.
