NewsSSESSMENTS: Chinese PVC Producer Adjusted Local Offers, Export Prices Deemed To Be Unworkable

Author: SSESSMENTS

A Chinese PVC producer shared with SSESSMENTS.COM on the latest adjustment for local acetylene-based PVC offers. This week, the producer decided to adjust up acetylene-based PVC offers by CNY150/ton ($21/ton) compared to last week following the uptrend in the local market due to the maintenance shutdown at several producers. While for the export market, no fresh offers yet as the offers usually come out on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, considering the current situation in the export market and a better profit margin in the local market, export offers will be unworkable.

In the import market, market talks have it that June shipment offers from the leading Taiwanese PVC producer to China will increase by $20-30/ton from May shipment. Demand-wise, currently, PVC demand in the domestic market is stable to slightly increase as some big converters have been running at more than 70% from normal production. However, the producer opined that traders and converters are not in a rush to make procurements as they have purchased a lot of cargoes in April and early May when there were a lot of low prices for import cargoes, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
