One of the Chinese acetylene-based PVC producers adjusted the local and export offers in line with the price trend in the international market, however, demand has yet to follow. The producer revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that local acetylene-based PVC offers from their end were adjusted up by CNY100/ton ($14/ton). While for the export market, the offers increased by $20/ton. All compared to last week’s levels.
The producer further explained that the uptrend in PVC prices in the international market is one of the supporting factors behind the upward price adjustment. Other supporting factors are the increases in PVC prices in the futures market and the maintenance season at several acetylene-based PVC producers in the country. The source claimed that import ethylene-based PVC offers of South Korea, Southeast Asia, and the U.S origins are hovering around $660-680/ton on LC at sight, CIF China main port basis. However, the upward price adjustment has not boosted buyers’ buying appetite yet. Buyers are showing a slow response. Nevertheless, the producer opined that acetylene-based PVC prices would be stable to firmer in the near time, as stated to SSESSMENTS.COM.
