One of the Chinese PVC producers informed SSESSMENTS.COM on adjusting local offers on the back of supply shortage and skipped giving official offers to the export market. This week, the producer decided to raise their local offers for acetylene-based PVC cargoes by CNY100/ton ($14/ton) on a weekly comparison. The decision was made because the producer just underwent a maintenance shutdown; hence their supply for prompt delivery is quite tight and only selling on forward delivery.
While to the export market, the producer revealed to SSESSMENTS.COM that the company did not announce official offers to the market and is only asking their customers to place bids. At the moment, the majority of inquiries that have been received by the producer are mostly coming from the India market. Citing that the prices in India’s domestic market and import offers from the leading Taiwanese PVC producer are deemed too high. Despite all the quite actively flowing-in inquiries, the producer has yet to make any deals with buyers so far.
