A Chinese acetylene-based PVC producer decided to prioritize the domestic market despite the increasing inquiries from export, SSESSMENTS.COM was told. After the leading Taiwanese PVC producer announced the price list for July shipment, the Chinese producer reported receiving more inquiries from the export market, such as from Southeast Asian countries. However, since the supply from the company’s end is limited, the Chinese producer prefers to focus on selling in the domestic market and set sell ideas for the export market at a high level, as such, buyers from the export market will back off.
While in the local market, the producer increased the offers by CNY50/ton ($7/ton) from last Monday’s level. At the moment, demand for PVC resins is quite healthy following the better demand for end-products as supported by the ongoing infrastructure projects, said the producer to SSESSMENTS.COM. Although the producer is unable to conclude lots of deals on a daily basis, the company claimed on having no inventory pressure since the availability of materials at the local producers’ end is considered low.
