Market sources in China informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Chinese PVC producers resort to maintenance shutdown to alleviate inventory pressure. As PVC prices continue to move lower amid sluggish demand due to Coronavirus pandemic, some acetylene-based PVC producers in China are planning to shut their plants in order to reduce the inventory pressure. SSESSMENTS.COM noted that as of March 30, total inventory of acetylene-based PVC in coastal China recorded at 492,700 tons; 324,700 tons in East China and 168,000 tons in South China.
