Vinnolit has completed expansion works at its paste PVC plant in Burghausen, Germany, the company said on Friday. The expansion project included adding new reactors, constricting new buildings for operations, and installing a new cooling water recycling system.
After the project, Vinnolit’s Burghausen plant will implement microsuspension technology to produce PVC with more flexible properties. Vinnolit aims at meeting the increasing demand for PVC with flexible properties from floor coverings, wallpapers, and specialized coatings manufacturers.
Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that Vinnolit could produce up to 780,000 tons/year of PVC from its three production bases in Germany. Vinnolit is a Westlake Chemical’s subsidiary. The expansion work at the Burghausen site is part of Westlake’s coordinated plan to add 340,195 tons/year of PVC production at its facilities in Geismar, Louisiana, and Burghausen, Germany.
