An Australian trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that offers for import PE cargoes to the country surfaced with adjustments. This week, the trader received offers for HDPE Film and HDPE Blow Moulding from a Thai PE producer at $25/ton higher than last week’s offers citing that the allocation for these cargoes is limited from their end. While offers for HDPE Pipe (PE 100) from another Thai producer remain stable compared to a fortnight ago with done deals achieved at the same level to the initial offers at $815/ton on LC at sight, CIF Australia Main Port basis.
As for US cargoes, deals for HDPE Film concluded at $820/ton on the same payment and delivery term. While for mLLDPE C6, a US PE producer hinted a price increment for these cargoes, however, so far no fresh offers received yet. Demand-wise, the Australia market is slowly recovering from the COVID-19 impact, however, PE demand is not strong yet, the trader told SSESSMENTS.COM. As such, the trader doubted whether the feedstock prices could continue to move higher onward, considering the current demand conditions.
