An Indonesian converter notified SSESSMENTS.COM on the factors behind three digits mLLDPE C6 price changes. The offers for Singaporean mLLDPE C6 stand at $1,070/ton and the deals were concluded at the initial offer level as the producer was unwilling to negotiate further due to the limited supply. While for US mLLDPE C6, the offers at $960/ton for shipment from Port Klang, Malaysia have increased by $110/ton compared to early January’s level. For US LLDPE Film C6, the offers stand at $880/ton and it will be shipped from Singapore. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Indonesia Main Port basis. Currently, most US producers are having limited inventory on hand.
The converter said to SSESSMENTS.COM that a Malaysian polyolefins producer opens a sell tender for 2,000 tons off-grade LLDPE C6 and the company has already submitted bids at $700/ton. If the bids are accepted, the cargoes will be sufficient until the end of next year. “The cargoes have a yellowish colour, therefore unsuitable to use in a high percentage, hence, we will only be able to use 20% for production,” the converter commented.
