A Japanese PVC producer indicated to SSESSMENTS.COM on the offers for June shipment. At the moment, the producer is waiting for June shipment announcement from the leading Taiwanese PVC producer which is expected to increase between $20-30/ton from May shipment’s level to all markets.
While from the Japanese producer’s end, possible price increases will be at $30/ton maximum. The producer believes that buyers will still keep procurement to a minimal quantity, especially for Indian customers. Moreover, at present most pipe makers are still running their operating rates at 50% from the normal rate, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.
