A producer based in Japan shared with SSESSMENTS.COM that their sales for July were highly satisfactory, although, their allocation was limited because of the maintenance. The producer then shared that their allocation should be back to normal for August shipment as their ethylene-based PVC plant with an annual production volume of 550,000 tons has resumed production from this week after conducting maintenance from mid-May.
The producer told SSESSMENTS.COM that overall demand in the Indian market is rather weak at the moment since converters are still keeping low run rates because of coronavirus outbreak, coupled with incoming monsoon around the area. Speaking of August shipment, the producer felt it was too early to discuss the offers and believes that it would be unlikely for Taiwanese major to announce as early as next week.
