Market sources reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that the local PE offers in Thailand have emerged with a correction recorded on certain grades. According to information provided by a trader, offers from one of the local producers for HDPE grades and LLDPE Film C4 dropped by THB1,000/ton ($32/ton), while offers for LDPE Film remain unchanged as compared to Tuesday’s offer levels. The downward adjustment made by the producer was triggered due to poor demand in the domestic market, however, the sources added that the volume is not big. Another local trader notified SSESSMENTS.COM that offers for HDPE grades and LLDPE Film C4 from the same producer are trimmed by THB500/ton ($16/ton), while LDPE Film offers remain stable as compared to the same period.
As for imports, the trader purchased LDPE Film of Singapore origin at the initial offer level for one container at $990/ton on LC at sight, CIF Thailand main port basis, which is much lower if compared to the domestic offers, as SSESSMENTS.COM was told. Furthermore, the market talks have it that import offers for the same product from Malaysia are available at $40/ton lower than Singaporean cargoes.
