NewsSSESSMENTS: Malaysian Converter Clinched Deals For Import Qatari LLDPE Cargoes, Unveils Done Deal Level

Author: SSESSMENTS

A Malaysian converter managed to clinch deals for import Qatari LLDPE Film C4 cargoes at a lower level than the initial offers, despite the supplier setting the bar high for any potential counter-bid. On July 17, the converter submitted bids for Qatari LLDPE Film C4 at $840/ton, or $40/ton lower than the initial offer level. However, the supplier refused to accept the bid and gave counter-offers at $865/ton, yet the converter was reluctant to take the cargoes, SSESSMENTS.COM was told.

Moving to the week commencing July 20, the supplier pushed cargoes at attractive prices to boost sales, offering Qatari LLDPE Film C4 cargoes at $850/ton. In response, the converter submitted bids at $20/ton lower than the initial offer level, which got rejected by the supplier as the company was unwilling to entertain requests for steep discounts. Coming to this week, the converter managed to finalize the deals at $10/ton lower than the producer's counter-offers last week. All import offers are on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia Main Port basis.
