Oman’s OQ Group (formerly known as Oman Oil and Orpic Group) has announced the start of trial operations at its Liwa Plastic Industries Complex (LPIC) in the Wilayat of Sohar. Market sources informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the $6.7-billion LPIC is the biggest industrial project in Oman. It is designed to produce up to 880,000 tons/year of polyethylene and 300,000 tons/year of polypropylene. LPIC product portfolio will include PP, HDPE, and LLDPE.
