A converter in Thailand contacted by SSESSMENTS.COM informed that PET prices in Thailand have been continuously adjusted. At the moment, PET Bottle prices from various suppliers already below THB26,000/ton-threshold level. The latest offers from the two PET producers in the country stand at THB25,500/ton ($779/ton), while for localized PET Bottle of China origin available at THB25,800/ton ($788/ton). All offers are on cash, FD Thailand basis and excluding 7% VAT.
Compared to offers at the beginning of the month, SSESSMENTS.COM noted that local PET Bottle prices have decreased by THB1,500/ton ($46/ton) in total. While for localized cargoes, the offers down by THB2,400/ton ($73/ton) compared to the same period. The source opined that PET Bottle prices continuously decreased as crude oil prices have gone lower and lower. Demand-wise, the converter claimed that demand for the converter’s end products remain stable so far as the government does not implement the lockdown scenario.
