NewsSSESSMENTS: Price Competitiveness Hindered Vietnamese Buyers To Purchase Import PE Cargoes Of Certain Origin

Author: SSESSMENTS

A global trading house reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that price competitiveness hindered Vietnamese buyers to purchase import PE cargoes of a certain origin. Last week,  the offers for Saudi HDPE Film, HDPE Blow Moulding, and LDPE Film grades to Vietnam market increased between $20-30/ton on a weekly comparison. While on a monthly comparison, the offers for Saudi origin were $50/ton higher. The trader revealed that the allocation for Saudi cargoes has been sold out since the middle of last week with the done deals concluded at $20/ton lower than the initial offer level.

For import Indian HDPE Yarn cargoes, the offers were available between $880-890/ton. However, the offers were deemed unworkable as most customers already completed the replenishment activity two weeks ago. While for US cargoes, the offers were only available at early last week at $830/ton for HDPE Film, HDPE Blow Moulding, and LLDPE Film C4. The trader stated to SSESSMENTS.COM that buyers were reluctant in making purchases as the offers for Saudi cargoes were deemed more competitive. All offers on LC at sight, CIF Vietnam Main Port basis.
