A Chinese PVC producer informed SSESSMENTS.COM that as the PVC demand in the country shift amid the rainy season, the company adjusted local PVC offers. On a weekly comparison, offers for local ethylene-based PVC from the producer declined by CNY50/ton ($7/ton). According to the producer, on the week commencing June 29, PVC offers in the domestic market dropped between CNY50-100/ton ($7-14/ton) compared to last week’s level. Market talks have it that currently, offers for local acetylene-based PVC are available between CNY6,100-6,300/ton ($861-890/ton) on cash, EXW China basis and including 13% VAT, while price ranges for local ethylene-based PVC are between CNY6,800-7,100/ton ($960-1,002/ton) on the same payment and delivery terms.
Further explained, this time of the year is traditionally a low season for PVC in the domestic market as heavy rain pours in China, which led to weak demand. Moreover, floods in several areas in the country have dampened PVC demand even more. Due to this, the producer expressed an opinion to SSESSMENTS.COM that China PVC market will be slower in the upcoming months.
