A Qatari PE producer stood the company’s ground despite pressure from buyers. The producer told SSESSMENTS.COM that offers for all PE grades remain at the same levels as last week although buyers asked for lower prices. For HDPE Film, buyers placed bids below $800/ton-level, using offers for cargoes of UAE and US origin as a reference. The producer rejected the bids since $800/ton on LC at sight, CIF Malaysia Main Port basis is the lowest acceptable level for both HDPE Film and LLDPE Film C4.
The producer further informed SSESSMENTS.COM that buyers also pressured for lower prices for LDPE Film and requested for the cargoes at below $900/ton-level. “We are not willing to sell below the initial offer given for all PE grades because we have no inventory pressure. We have some backlogs recently. So, although the current demand is not that strong, the situation in our side is quite balanced at the moment,” the producer explained.
